Our Goal

It is the goal of our organization to make the funds available for individuals with academic merit that are compassionate and have a burning desire in pursuing nursing education and/or related services. There are many individuals who would like to pursue a degree in nursing but are limited on the amount of financial aid they can receive because they have an income slightly above the qualifying income bracket. These could be individuals who are working full time jobs and attending school, or are married and have a combine income which is too high to receive financial aid but not high enough to pay the cost of tuition. AMJ Hope Foundation, Inc. will be able to help these people afford the costly tuition fees by offering scholarships based on merit rather than financial need. In order for an individual to receive a scholarship from AMJ Hope Foundation, Inc. each individual must have consistently demonstrated to achieve at a sustained high level in either High School or previous College courses. All students receiving a scholarship from our organization must also be attending a school with an accredited PN program and an 88% pass rate on the NCLEX test.

In addition to providing these scholarships to students AMJ Hope Foundation, Inc. will work with local high schools to promote nursing careers with the students. We will have current nurses and nursing students come and speak with interested student, explaining to the students what is needed to become a nurse and why they may want to consider becoming a nurse. It is our hope that through this promotion and education we can reduce the shortage of nurses while producing kind hearted health care professionals. This need for nurses will only increase as the number of baby boomers increases as well as HIV/AIDS and cancer continue to affect people’s lives.
